Welcome, Friends!

I’m so glad you’ve found your way to For the Feast.

carrie

I am Carrie Pacini, a food writer, photographer, and stylist based in Houston, Texas, where I live with my husband and two children.

I am co-founder of the Mom 2.0 Summit and have also had the pleasure of participating in projects such as The Wine Conference.

I’ve served on the Board of Directors for the Italian Cultural and Community Center for over four years and continue to be active in the community when time allows.

My family’s roots are in Italy, and that heritage flavors much of our lives, from the food on our table to our highly anticipated summer escapes. I love the rich culture and savory cuisine of the Old World and cannot wait to share some of my favorite flavors — and the stories behind them — with you!

With a full schedule, I’m mindful of easy ways to get a meal on the table, and I love experimenting with classic, rustic flavors in a way that fits our modern lives.

For the Feast is a sanctuary for discussion on food, travel, and family, as well as a valuable resource for you as you bring this rich cultural heritage into your own home.

While my heart belongs to Italy, I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a variety of travels around the world, which have all found their way into my heart and home.

I’ve spent a month in Israel, ridden a camel in Turkey, and seen a full solar eclipse through a Coke bottle in Greece. I’ve sipped Guinness in Ireland, learned how to make a proper tea in England, and feasted on an unforgettable venison stew in New Zealand.

I’ve gotten lost in the French countryside, island-hopped from Cayman to the Bahamas to Jamaica, and wandered all over Italy. I love figuring out the little things in each new city, or how to find my way around when the maps are missing streets or tiny forgotten alleyways that are always full of the most amazing secrets. These are the experiences that flavor my life, and I look forward to sharing them with you!

… studying what makes a culture tick and what traditions they carry on

… the smell of gardenia, white sage, my mother’s stew, coffee in the morning
